WHERE ELSE__________________BIG UP FOR OBAMA_______________________
Hi everybody, howzit ? Thanks to their elections the world dreams again, congrat USA! But you know me I want to talk about SA...
Where else does it bite like in SA?
I'm not talking about the mosquitos, in fact I have been bitten only once in almost two years in South Africa...I'm talking about this fantastic feeling of life, this freedom you can still enjoy in so few countries nowadays. The strange thing is that lot of South African complain and believe the grass is greener in Europe oO ! I meet some of them back after years in the UK or Australia who share my opinion. SOUTH AFRICA is Fantastic. I add an album with a mix of pics to show you the diversity of south african life. You will see there motor beast from the Johannesburg International Motor Show, other beast from Zebula golf estate (it's a golf estate lost in a game reserve with a land strip so you can come with your private plane), there is a few pictures of what I do with Paragon (the last pics show 25 Wellington transformation where I'm the project architect) and what our office looks like (in the picture called '3 paragon in 1" please don't thing they did the pseudo classical tower in the back ground). Paragon architects in involded in the base design for the 2010 Soccer World Cup Green Point Stadium in Cape Town you can see first in this album (Paragon architects is classified 3rd architecture company on the african continent ^_______^ ). Find all this under the name "Where else" in the albums.
Where else can you one week end attend to an international motor show and the next relax around a fire camp in the bush? Where else can you enjoy designing high standard architecture knowing you are making patrimony? Where else can you as a foreigner feel like you can just melt in? Where else can you have a nice dinner at a different restaurant every evening if you wish knowing that indian is cooked by indians, chinese by chineses, portuguese by protugueses etc...it's delicious and you are not to only one who can afford it. UH? (yes food is important to me).
Where eles in the world people are so mixed in their origins that you give up trying to define them and call them colored if they have this beautiful eternal sun tan skin?
Which other country tries to cope with 12 different languages and many more religions? no wonder they fight, but at least they try!
I'm sorry I don't have a pix of this mosquito that bite me once...Its head was so big I thought it was a dragonfly. Apart from this incident, I'm fine :-)
I have been asked to extend my urban design beyond the border of MoByJo project, the city is beginning to work with private investors in the area and that's a very good sign. I have been working at Paragon architects for 9 months now and feel I'm really in the right place, managing a nice 10 000sqm rehab with a super team. My colleagues are from everywhere in Africa and Brazil, it a pleasure to be part of the mix.
Love to the world, viva internet. Bisous mes amis. Up-load your shedding after green Xmas & white easterBonjour tout le monde,
vous m'avez sacrément manqué!
HI SOUTH AFRICA! First come first, I have to tell you are as fantastic as your country and as the dream you carry. You might have no electricity, but you have six times more sun than a north european country. Remember photovoltaic cells work there when there is no sun, so think about this free provider of power above your head. Technologies travel, SA should lead the sun field rather than bowing at the dangerous nuclear gift so generously offered by french opportunists.
Enough of that stuff, A BIG HUG to SA ARTISTS, they are so many creative people and strong mind here, behind beautiful fragile diversity.
Some news of MoByJo project, quickly, it's going well. In a year I managed to reach the landowner, the best developer for the area and a wonderful mysterious free agent from the City... It's only due to South African open mind and kindness that a young foreign professional can talk to the right people...and a little bit to my strong will also. Thank you very much again south africans.Even if I'm excited about the whole affair, let's be patient, I will keep you updated. I just can add that if you cover 2/3 of MoByJo tower with photovoltaic cells you could provide 3 millions kW/ h.....
Mais me revoila, back to live on msn!
I miss you and our country smells. 6 months, le bilanHi friends ! how are you doing ? Spring is well there, so its time to say goodbye to winter. bon je crois que je vais faire le bilan en francais. Sorry english spoken reader, this will be mainly in French. After six month in South Africa, the most important is : I am still in love with this country. I have post a new album under " South Winter" will add more pics later. A eviter absolument. Thank you South Africa. |
